Audio Clip: Nana baked a blueberry chiffon pie. She held it carefully in her lap while Grandpa drove for almost an hour. "Don't take any sharp turns, Harry!" The house was full of Thanksgiving, so Mom told my brother to put the blueberry pie in the pool house refrigerator. There was snow and ice all over the place. Gary tried to be careful but he slipped and fell on the patio, and the blueberry pie went everywhere. We all thought it was funny. Even Nana laughed. Years later Mom went to see Nana. She was old and nearly out of her mind. "Ma, do you remember me? Do you remember your children? Do you remember the blueberry pie?" Then, ever so slowly, a smile unfolded across Nana's wrinkled face.
